John Shimkus' nemesis, Democrat Tim Bagwell, running for the 19th congressional district in Illinois is a press conference at 11:00 am on Wednesday September 29th at the State Capital Blue Room in Springfield.

The news conference will be directed at issues of Congressional oversight of the Save-A-Life-Foundation (SALF), a Chicago area non-profit that has been the subject of numerous media exposes. Bagwell site hacked

Democratic congressional candidate Tim Bagwell's website http://www.bagwellforcongress.com/ was slow loading at first, but then an old nemesis popped up.

The old "Your computer has many viruses and we'll scan your computer for free" popup window showed up.

Of course there's no getting out of that exept by pressing "Ctrl-Alt-Delete", going to the Task Manager window and forcing the browser to shut down. Then you must load a program called C-Cleaner that clears out all the garbage before you launch your browser again, because you will still have all of that crap in your temporary folders.

Democrat Tim Bagwell is competing for the 19th congressional district in Illinois, with John Shimkus. Dear John Shimkus. You better track down the little thug hacker on your staff and give him a slap on the wrist. I don't think that's good politics, Mr Shimkus, I would prefer to judge Mr. Bagwell's position on the issues than make my voting decision based on who wins some Internet Tech War.

I wish I could be there, but I go to work when everyone else goes home, and I can't plan anything more than three days out. I've missed countless monthly meetings with REALL (The Rational Examination Association of Lincoln Land) and the Springfield Area Freethinkers.

All these groups have members that are very rare in this area and it makes me sad that I miss out on actual intelligent conversations that otherwise would only take place after paying a tuition fee at the Unversity of Illinois at Springfield.

After listening to WMAY syndicated Hate Radio last night, these groups have become more important now than ever because the Right-Wing Radical Fundamentalist Christian Terrorist Racist Bigoted Homophobes are planning political machinations in revenge for the election of Barack Obama.

Federal Legislators on Summer Break

Our U.S. Senators and Congressmen are on their August break. You might see them around your district. We, the people expected change after the 2006 election, and the rumors going around are that the Democrats have rolled over and have not been effective since they have become a majority.

But, we, the people rolled over. We only gave the Democrats a simple majority, not an overriding majority. For the Democrats to be effective against the onslaught of warmongering predatory capitalists, an overriding majority is needed, a better than two-thirds majority that can override a Presidential veto or some other arcane parliamentary procedure.

So we have nothing to complain about but our own inability to elect an effective majority of legislators different from those who dominated our government for the last six years.
